Medical Genetics

Dr. Anthony Wynshaw-Boris now heads the Division of Medical Genetics in Pediatrics at UCSF which established the UCSF Medical Genetics Clinic in 1967. (The clinic is a model for the genetics counseling services now available for patients and their families throughout California and much of the United States.) Dr. Wynshaw-Boris serves on the Executive Committee of the UCSF Institute for Human Genetics, which serves as a unified framework for all human genetics clinical, teaching and research activities at UCSF.

Dr. Robert Nussbaum heads the Division of Medical Genetics in the Department of Medicine. He is on the Executive Committee of the Institute for Human Genetics as well as the Executive Committee of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program. In addition to his own laboratory research, he participates in the General Genetics and the Neurometabolic Clinics at UCSF as well as in such specialized clinics as the Program in Cardiovascular Genetics within the UCSF Heart and Vascular Center and the Cancer Risk Program.
